Working on the engine over the last couple of days a wire from the loom came adrift, now identified it as the buzzer for the oil pressure sender and I can't find where it connects - engine is under the cockpit sole so working upside down, head first into the engine with limited side access!

I think it must be on the starboard side of the engine somewhere in the vicinity of the back of the alternator but haven't managed to locate it by feel yet. Can anyone narrow down the search area for me please?

I have a Perkins 4.154 and the oil pressure sender is located on the port side of the engine ( opposite the alternator ) and at the very bottom of the engine , front side .

I have a 4108 but I guess it is very very similar: this is a picture of the port side, the bigger red circle is around the oil pressure gauge, the smaller one is around an oil pressure tap going to a manometre

hope this helps

I Have Twin 4107s And Mine Is Behind The Alternator.

That would sound about right judging by the length of the wire and it comes out of the loom with the alternator cables. I shall explore that area further. Thanks everyone.

Well, after another half hour of searching and no sign of the sender on the starboard side, what did I find but another wire with a female connecter tucked away under a pipe, just above the gearbox, right at the extremity of the wire that I was trying to find a home for! Connected it up and the warning light/buzzer now works again.

Haven't followed it round, but it looks like the sender is round on the port side as some have said. Haven't actually tracked it all the way round, will save that for another day. Don't people do some marvellous things when doing their own wiring? /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif
