Perkins 4/107

Just bought a boat with a 4/107, started my apprentiship on them but that was 50 years ago working on them occassionaly and seem to remeber they are fixed with AF nuts and bolts, dont have any so need to get them, could anyone give me an idea of what spanners and sockets i need to do a job say as complicated aas a head gasket. Also any idea of fuel consumtion on a 7 ton 32 ft ol 24 foot wl , 8ft 6in wide.

For a head gasket, most important tool is a torque wrench. Just buy a 1/2" socket set, and a set of AF combination spanners, then add more if needed.

How about whatever size is required to undo the propshaft union and the engine mounts

Only kidding, my 26 year old 4-108 is still a great unit. Noisy and drips oil but it ticks like a sewing machine, sips fuel and spares are abundant.
