As per the heading: A friend has a leaking manifold. Weld attempted but apparently too corroded to keep.

Searched the web without much luck so thought this forum might be the source of wisdom, as so often before.

Any suggestions on where to source a good used or new highly appreciated.

Thx.

Last few I bought came from Lancing Marine.

Secondhand ones do come up on ebay, but of course it may not last long. All my spares and spare engines have gone now.

I believe Lancing marine to have them.

Its the point where I choose to replace the 6.354, but, if i was to buy a new manifold I'd look very carefully at the mod to bring the manifold into the fresh mater loop.

Great info :)

The mod to include the manifold in the coolant loop sounds obvious but might not be all easy. Must be looked into, of course. - thanks for heads up.

I've got a Bowman manicooler available if that would work. Plus a few other 6.354 parts such as higher pressure pump.

Serck Manicooler was for dot4 T6.354, unless you have Bowman combined manifold heat exchanger which was for the dot4 6.354 N/A engine and cannot mount a turbocharger easily.

79 T6.354 suggests OP has a dot2 motor. The pattern cast iron raw water wet manifolds have come right down in price way less than a grand these days from Lancing.

Wavey - no PM has arrived.

Latestarter - Thanks. The one I have is the Bowman combined manifold / heat exchanger / header tank, as shown in their current catalogue.

I received a PM from Wavey - thanks.

@npf1: Can you provide a pic for identification?

Exactly what I thought, this was designed specifically for the later N/A Perkins Range 4 i.e dot 4 motor and of no use to Spi D.

Thanks, Ben.

Another forumite sent me a copy of a 2010 write up from Broom Owners Club, suggesting parts' sources. Great, actually.

In general supports the suggestions given here and I suppose the bottom line is, that parts are available if you hunt a bit. Apparently Barr is the major manufacturer of manifolds, selling all over the world, and the total cost of purchase, shipping and import duties will decide where to place the order.

www.dintra.nl in Holland offer a 'Polar' manifold. By pictures does not look all right for this case.

The market for used parts need a little more investigation. Not a lot to choose from at the moment.

Ashley wound up Polar Engineering over ten years ago, Bowman took over patterns for the charge air coolers and Cummins manifold but declined the rest. Never looked a the Polar T6.354 manifold, however one thing for sure it cannot go in the seawater circuit.
