I believe Ian has a Karnic 2250 with a Suzuki 140 4stroke based in Poole.

The latter is what prompts me to suggest that there may well be fouling!

The rig being so new suggests to me that the engine is likely to be fine...............

if lots of barnacles, cutting power is like applying brakes - noticeably fab stopping power rather than gliding on as with clean bottom.

I would try things in order of cost, so start by cleaning the fuel filter(s). If you still think its slime why not borrow a wetsuit and mask and give it a scrub yourself, takes me half an hour for a 46' boat.

Thanks everyone for your replies, have been away from PC for weekend so have been unable to reply.

It seems the only way I am going to find out for sure is to get a scrub. Fortunately the dealer is being very helpful and so once I find the answer I will report back to the forum.
