See what the uploader of this vid thinks (it's only a small, old boat - Jaguar22 ?)
(You need to hover your cursor over the top of the video to keep the caption visible).

Landlubbers think that is a "shipwreck" rather than simply an annoying error of judgement. They have a mindset that equates it with the Torrey Canyon or Costa Concordia rather than an everyday (well, perhaps not EVERY day, but you know what I mean) incident in the life of a coastal yottie.

Mind you if he does do it that often, he'd be better buying a twin keeler.

I'm pleased to see there's no lifeboat involved, but then maybe the video shooter called them out later . . .

Actually the saying is 'More cents then sense' but the twit that uploaded the video probably didn't get the play on words that it involves.

Same attitude to outlandings in sailplanes. You land in a farmers field and get the police, fire-brigade and an ambulance pitch up. They are sorely disappointed when your crew arrives with the trailer, you de-rig, load up and drive off! :D

Wouldn't the title of the vid be more appropriately named "A most boring 56 secs"? I was assuming that at the very least a great white shark was going to chomp the boat....

The video maker is probably even less knowledgeable about tides - he was filming waiting for something else to happen.

Why this view that sailing has to be expensive? People are always surprised when I tell them you can start with a boat that costs less than a small second hand family car and it's cheaper per year than golfing.

Just bought this yacht last week

You would have seen these rocks on the chart, what chart, still getting yourself into this embarrassing situation can be costly however it’s a steep (very) learning curve and one has to reflect on what went wrong and how to avoid it next time. In lesson two of “how to teach yourself to sail” we will be further into the liquid stuff rather than on the hard stuff where we will resume the skills required for tacking which we started in lesson one and were unsuccessful with.

Excellent way to take the kids sailing - all the thrills & spills & non of that tedious mucking about with bits of string, blankets & dollops of water. You can even pop ashore for an icecream ...
I think it could catch on.

Now you KNOW that this kind of remark is only going to upset people like Searush and amuse others..........like me, for instance:D Still, don't let that stop you if it makes you feel better.
