Every summer Finikounda hosts three evenings of Greek dancing in the harbour arena, free of charge. The first is on Saturday night, July 5th, 21:00. So if you're within range in the SW Peloponese (Kiparisssia, Navarino Bay, Methoni, Koroni, or in Kalamata marnia) consider your options.
It's a fine anchorage off the town in 3m to 6m, or bows on to the quay, in settled weather, the current forecast.
But those who hate late night noise from 21:00 to 23:00, and hate seeing lots of costumed people prancing around in circles, should keep clear.
Cold draft beers served in frozen 400cl glasses at cafe Gardenia, at the root of the town quay, cost €2:50. Eleni's, one of the better restaurants in the Peloponnese, is just above the arena, and offers fine set meals at €15 per person; a bit more if you drink over 0.5l between you.
Caroline and I will be at Gardenia having a pint at 19:30, and would be delighted to meet any passing forum members.
