Been given a couple of 200Mhz 10Gb 32Mb mini notebooks. Have installed Win 98 fine, and they have wireless cards and network at home fine. Run pretty fast too!

They have really nice 7" VGA screens. Can't help but think one would be great as an on-board chartplotter as the have very low power consumption and are nice and compact.

Does anyone know of chartplotting software that will run on a low spec machine OR have an old version that they would be willing to dispose of?

CmapECS will run fine on that spec, as will Maptech Offshore Navigator.
Earlier vesrions of Maxsea up to 10.1 will probably be OK too though probably a little slow on drawing.

Steve.

Seaclear
Maxsea vers 10
CMapECS
Maptech
SOB
WinGPS
Ozi-Explorer
Mapsource
Seapro Lite
Capn Voyager

...................................... etc.

I would suggest unsuitable for Seapro, Raytech Navigator, Maxsea later than 10.1, other high end products as redraw and menu'ing will be slow.

Maptech Lite, Ozi-Explorer and Seaclear would be my recc'md programs to try on it.
