I get all 3 mags, and at the mo, PBO, is the one I do not want to loose, I teach, and the articles are a great help to me at times, I know some of the people who write them and have a great respect for there wealth of knowledge on these subjects. This is not a butter up or anything like that, Don't do that. But credit where credit due, /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Re: Should I change from YM?

Been taking YM for about 3 years now. Before that Sailing Today for a year. And PBO for 6 years on and off before that. I even take the odd Mobo mag to drool at Aquastars, and the Boats for Sale to get a multi flavour of whats about.

Should I consider changing back to PBO if its that good again as I am too tight to buy them all each - particularly as many of the adds are some of the article are alike?

Re: Should I change from YM?

Been taking YM and ST for several years. ST seem to manage the trick of keeping up my interest, but YM seems much the same each month, I realised that I read the current issue very quickly indeed. Maybe I'll try PBO instead to go with ST, altho I did get fed up with PBO some years ago with it's 'make a sailing yacht out of stuff from your garden shed' style of article.

Agreed - PBO is best UK mag. Almost as good as French mags for decent technical stuff. Great for practical advice, but still a bit micky mouse when it comes to talking about boat design and handling. I'm still enjoying "Voile et Voiliers" analysis of the merits of all the last America's cup boats. I wish the brit mags would stop talking to the lowest common denominator and realise that a lot of yachties are hungry for more than just the inevitable autumn "how to winterize" and spring "how to antifoul articles".

I also wish PBO (and the other brit boats) would try out all the French ally cruising boats. I get so fed up with reading about yet another GRP boat, no matter how worthy they may be. How about a trial of some of the smaller ally yards, like www.technimar.com, or http://allures-yachting.com/?

Julie ,
I agree it would be great ,, P.B.O. I mean ,,,,, If I could get it here in County Cork. The Shops that normally stock it , dont seem to have it regularly anymore. You might get it for three months, and then miss two.:(
