Do you remember that little plastic gauge PBO gave away about twelve or fifteen years ago? It was about 4 " long with a deep notch cut into a short side. With it we could measure such useful things as rope diameter, rigging wire diameter, screw gauge and even plywood thickness. I think I found it one of the most useful free gifts I ever had. Did any of you also use it extensively? I wonder if PBO could perhaps be prevailed upon to produce an updated version for its readers - free of course. How about it Kim?

Re: How about

Why do we never see vouchers for say 10% off things like flares, fire extinguishers etc given with PBO to promote safety, the magazine, the manufacturer and the supplier.

Still got mine too. In fact I've got 2. I guess PBO must have run them twice; they repeat most things given time.

They did offer discount flares once but you could buy the same ones cheaper if you went down the road to an independent chandler.
