I'm mystified, why is the Forum being swamped by threads for obscure, and some less obscure, pharmaceuticals?

Difficult for them to do that if a trusted account has been compromised.
Account owner should review their security. Wonder if his account had an easy to crack password? Do the forums lock a user out after a reasonable number of failed attempts? If not, IPC should consider implementing this.

even more intriguing is that some of these have start dates going back ages. Looks as if the members' database has been kidnapped.

Just one account, not the database. So far. if some nefarious scoundrel is playing "guess the password" to target these forums then
1) Time for users to up their password complexity;
2) Time for IPC to put in place better anti-hacking measures (3 strikes and you're out until someone intervenes?)

Are the moderators on here 24x7? Doubtful. It's Sunday. With any sense they'll be in their scratcher rather than pootling about in here.
Ps: if there are moderators reading this - can I get my account toggled to "trusted user", please? I promise to keep my password secure and not advertise Viagra.

just had a quick, short, look at the posting history. It has been going on for nearly 4 1/2 hours. I reported three then gave up.
The absence of a contingency response plan to deal with this generic event is very worrying. It looks as if 3 community mods is not enough to provide 24*7 coverage - but why should it, unless the pro mod team has handed over control of the forum after doing a risk assessment of such events.
I suppose it is possible that our own mods have no tools, nor access, to block the sender.
This is not a rant against our Com mod team, who cannot be expecetd to do shift work here, but against the IPC system which allows these attacks without, apparently, having any plans to thwart these inavasions quickly and effectively. I'd want to know that my forum details have not been sucked out into some vast cyber-regiment of data to be sold on by the criminals, so I'm now signing out for a few hours, just in case.

And to the Mods - thank you for removing all the threads, at one point I counted 17 of them -
I did think the forum would be swamped!
I'm quite happy if you remove this thread as it makes little sense now that remedial action has been taken.
