I love Fridays....yes I have just been told the office is closed until Monday however I believe its because of sickness today (I am in London)

Interesting comment about Zinio? I will look into this now.

As for cunning ploy..... I wish I had the time to devise such cunning ploys..

Hi I have had a look at Zinio and I can get through to the check out on each occasion using several browsers? the only thing you will need to do is set up a free account if you dont have one already in order to download the app?

Let me know how you get on?

Wouldn't you know it, worked fine this time. Interestingly when I tried earlier, no photo of the cover appeared. When I clicked on the add to basket button, the page "blinked" but nothing else happened. This time the cover was there in all its glory and all went well. Many thanks for looking into it.

Always the way don't worry! I did have the no cover earlier though so have put a request in for them to look at it.
 
Your buying method is ****

My experience - offering paypal as a payment method but then requiring me to register with someone else is poor - bit like trying to buys kebab when bladdered on a saturday night but then needing to do a Pilates session a week in Wednesday, before you pay the money and get the goods ... The user registration form on zinio asks me for all sorts of information i simply don't want to give (if it's online why does it need my home address other than to send me **** through the post that I have just opted out of?) .. Zinnia reckons I have an account already - if that is the case, what was zinio called before? I singularly cannot remember having registered with them.. Sorry to say it, as I am quite keen on PBO but this a very, and unnecessarily, (cos there are many people on the forum that can help you with this for not a lot of money ...) spectacularly POOR user experience.

In a kind way, as you seem to be at the top........

Your link goes directly to the zinio website, and again i have been confronted with dissapointment.

Coming soon to iphone it says

Its been saying coming soon for months now for the actuall PBO magazine.

Can you tell me how long coming soon is????

PBO is my prefered magazine but i have not bought one for maybe half a year now, the reason is that none of PBO literature is avalible for iphone yet.

I am based in Gibraltar and im afraid i wont be paying £7-£8 for a magazine.

The sooner you get this sorted the sooner you guys get at least one customer back.

Just to let you know, yachting monthly, sailing today and yachting world have all managed to get there stuff on the iphone, somebody, somewhere is slacking im afraid.......

Are you looking to buy the print version or the digital version? Zinio is for the digital version only. To purchase the print version you need to either head to your local newsagent or call the number I have given.

Apologies if I am stating the obvious.

To be clear are you looking to purchase PBO on your iphone? if that's the case then yes you can have PBO on your through Zinio.

All of our marine publications are available on all devices, however as you have mentioned it I will see if there is a problem.

Many thanks for getting back to me! The PBO mag is what i would like, but now this new diy guide is out i would like it to!

On your link in the first post its says it does ios and all the other bits, but in small print with a little star it says avalible for ipad, coming soon to iphone and ipod touch.

It says the same for PBO

I have the zinio app on my iphone 4 and when i go to the store i cant seem to find PBO, but i do find YM and YW

I look forward to the response with my fingers crossed!

Hi

I have put a call into Zinio this morning to see if there is any problem with PBO in the App store (their app store) There should be no problem and as I said all of our publications are (or should be!) available on all platforms.

Leave it with me.

At present the Zinio option is the only one available that offers multi platform use.

In approx two weeks we will have an ipad only version that will be available through the App store.

Zinio is a global app and it requires a host of information from you to complete the purchase and pay the VAT in the country that you are purchasing it from.

If you are having extreme difficulty with it please email me directly and I will try (through Zinio) to understand what the problem is.

Ok where does one start.....

Lets start with ZINIO NOT APPLE / APP and the fact that PBO is not on the iphone, ipod touch first..

As some of you may be aware IPC Marine Media publishes no less than ten marine publications, five of which are consumer titles and that includes PBO.

All of our titles are available in a digital format and as more devices come onto the market the more platforms our titles are available on. This is something that happens automatically but on this occasion it appears that PBO and MBM have not been made available on the iphone.

With the explosion of ipad sales our iphone sales remain relatively low due to the fact that its not the best device to read a magazine on and therefore it has never come to my attention that PBO or MBM are not available in this format. More importantly nobody has every complained that its not! So I hold my hands up and say this one slipped through the net.

The good news is they will be available from the July issue.

Essential Maintenance Guide - Digital

Preview pages - again for some reason not all have been uploaded and this is being rectified today so you will be able to see whats in side it, apologies for the delay.

It will be made available for the iphone and ipod touch ASAP and I am hoping by the end of the week.

If you want to read this on a whole host of different platforms then Zinio is the only place to do this at the moment and you will have to resister to open a free account to read it on.

However the App version is with Apple at the moment and we are hoping to have this in the app store in the next week but this will be for ipad only and no other device.
