payment clearance

Hi,
I think we have sold our boat and every thing seems to be

in order,the broker paying is sending the money by bank

transfer but our bank says it could take up to five days

for the funds to clear,Broker says he can do this a faster

way for funds to clear,any advice in this regard would be

appreciated.

I have accepted hundreds of "telegraph transfers", they normally have to be done AM, but they are instant, the funds go straight from one account to the other and are cleared. There is a small cost associated but it is not onerous

To make a CHAPS payment you need to advise your bank before 2pm and they will transfer the money that day. Lloyds charge £30 and for amounts over £10,k you need to go into the branch with ID.

if its a smaller amount (prob not !) it should automatically go via faster payments system (FPS), which is same day.
