I am going to england next Summer howe normal is it to pay in euro in harbor's "paying habor money " and shops around the harbor or must i exchange to pounds and wat is the normal overnight pay for a 25 fot sailboat
No chance at all of being able to pay in Euros I'm afraid, anyway you will need to change some money to spend when ashore, since shops/pubs/restaurants etc will not take Euros.
As to costs, 2-3 pounds per metre is I believe the going rate for a marina berth (so about 15 pounds a night for your size of boat) in popular areas on S Coast. If you go on a visitor's mooring somewhere it should be much less (hopefully!). Some places have the cheek to charge for anchoring but mostly that is free where it is allowed.
If you get the 2003 Reeds Macmillan almanac then all the rates from this year are published there and you can spend some winter nights making plans...
not all harbours cost money. in most places you can anchor without paying, there are a few places which will charge for anchoring (chichester, beaulieu etc.) if you tie up to a pontoon or quay you will always have to pay, between 5 and 25 pounds per night. always ask before you decide to stay!
Don't know much about euro acceptance, Good, but ignore all these South Coast rabble and come to the glorious muddy East Coast. I paid £10 overnight in a marina for a 23 footer and that was considered expensive. Plenty of free mooring and anchorages and they don't do all that incivilised chasing around demanding money for anchoring either.
a little bit manky. Oh yes it is! There's a multiscreen in Ipswich, and some places do nicer chips than some others. Aldeburgh is unreachable from sea in a keelboat, but is nice only because nothing at all has happened for 87 years.
don't worry too much about changeing a lot of money. I don't know about Denmark, but here in the Netherlands you cannot often pay the marina with Credit Cards. In Britain you usually can. Also you can pay with your credit card in supermarkets. The amount of cash needed is very limited.
