Who's the friggin Mobo guardian angel .... cos I think he works quite hard and deserves beautification ... can't remember who the sailing patron saint is?

Definitely St Brendan - great sailor and navigator.

MOBOs probably rely on SEBASTIAN of Aparicio as the patron saint of drivers! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

By the way beautification is a process somewhat different from beatification.

Saint Sod
Although he applies his law to all boats, he specialises in motor boats. With dispensation for drunks and children.
He rides with us where ever we go and without him boating would just not be the same. There would also be no PBO forum as everything would work beautifully.

Patron Saint of Breast Surgeons

is St Agatha. A poor Scicilian innocent who refused the local Lords wicked advances. He sends the lads round who remove both offending objects. The paintings show instruments that are a cross between bolt cutters and shears. She stands there looking demure. Other pics show her holding a plate with two mounds of Jello on and a halo.
Here endeth todays lesson

Re: Patron Saint of Breast Surgeons

She was patron saint of nurses, wet nurses and bell founders.
" In the story, the beautiful and wealthy virgin Agatha, who from earliest childhood had dedicated her life to God, was pursued by a powerful man who threatened to expose her Christianity if she didn't submit.

Of course, this had no effect on Agatha, who was then prosecuted and punished by being sent to a brothel. When her virginity was miraculously maintained in the brothel, Agatha was imprisoned and tortured and mutilated by having her breasts cut off. Again, she was miraculously restored, this time to be brought out and rolled on coals until she finally expired.

In iconography, Saint Agatha is often shown carrying her breasts on a platter, though later artists thought the breasts to be either bells or loaves of bread, leading to the custom of blessing bread on Saint Agatha's feast day and her patronage of bell makers. "

I wonder if they thought of making her patron saint of barbecues as well?
