Hello all,
I'm replacing the old Pasport forehatch on my Westerly Griffon with a used Lewmar Storm 60 I am refurbishing. I'd appreciate help on 3 aspects:
The cutout in the deck is 508mm square, the same as the Lewmar, but the Lewmar has a 42mm corner radius whereas the cutout is square cornered. What is the best thing to infill the corners with? Something epoxied in? Ply? Or just filler of some sort? The deck is solid grp (no core) about 10mm thick.
Best sealant to seal hatch to deck? Most here seem to say Butyl tape.
Best sealant to fix new acrylic into frame? Most here say silicone, like Dow 795.
Must be someone out there who's had the same problem!
