Does anybody have detailed photo's of a Pansy heater. I can find some on Google Images but wonder, in particular, anybody has photos of;

1. The torch in the ashpit (you pour meths on to light the heater)

2. The flue extension above deck

3. A previous PBO thread somebody mentioned the necessity of a cowling - a photo of the cowling

4. How the deck is sealed when the flue extension is removed.

My boat came with the heater installed, but no torch in the ashpit, or a flue extension/cowling/method of closing off. I'm going to get the yard to make the necessary parts, but it would help if anybody had detailed photo's.

Hi

We had one on a previous (wooden) boat.

1. We didn't use the meths method as it didn't work trribly well. but as exlained in another recent post used a Camping Gaz torch from underneath to get the charcoal glowing.
2. Flue extension abve deck was a length of copper pipe about 1' long which was inserted into the through deck fitting
3. Cowling was a dished piece of galvanised steel which was attached to the flue by a bolt welded inside the cowl/bowl shaped 'hat' that was attached to a tapped crosspiece on the flue
4. A suitable sized cork.

Regards

Donald
