Can anybody enlighten me as to why jabsco can justify selling a waste water extraction pump with a 38mm outlet at nearly £200.00 but the same pump with a 19mm outlet for fresh and grey water at nearly £100.00 less when the only difference seems to be the pipe connection sizes. Is this one or the office of fair trading me thinks?

They don't have to justify anything full stop. A company is free to charge what it likes for its products, and free to go out of business if nobody wants to buy them at that price.

I believe the waste water one is designed to not clog up with the sort of detritus found in shower sumps etc so has to be more robust and has a different internal section - fresh water is clean and (should be) particle free so is easier to pump.

38mm diameter pipe will have a much larger flow rate than 19mm. I suspect that 38mm is used for a reason. Maybe 19mm wouldn't be able to keep up with the quantity of water being supplied to whatever is being pumped out.

If the OP drills a 38mm hole in the bottom of his boat he could drain the water out through that - just a suggestion.

I think I'll pass on the hole........I suspect the pressure in would be greater than the pressure out therefore the boat would sink......just a guess you understand!
