Hi
I'm replacing damaged drive rubber flaps on my KAD43 DP drive. They are the rectanglular external ones that are rivetted onto the outlet (or is it inlet?) of the lower drive case.

The job is being done in Spain so I'm having to order the parts remotely. The only part number I can find is "872438 Check valve" (or non return valve) but it only refers to the KAD42. Is it one and the same?

Thanks in advance.

It certainly looks like that, Novanta, but if I put that part number 872438 into Google (and the word Penta) it refers back to a 280 Aquamatic which I don't think mine is. As jimg says I must first find out which drive I have. The boat is early 2002.
I am a tad confused at the moment to what DP drive I have.

All my VP stuff indicates the KAD43 was available at that time with either the DP-E or DPX drives.

They look quite different so you should be able to tell which one you have as long as you would recognise your drive.

Google images for examples of both.

The DPX drives exhaust through the hub of the prop. You will almost certainly have a DPE drive on your KAD43 and the part no you already have 872438 is the rubber flappy thing you need to stop wash/wake from going back up the exhaust.

Thanks Eddie that's pretty conclusive and additional thanks to jimg, novanta and neale.
