Could someone with experience of it, please advise me how long it takes, roughly, to get a boat Part 1 registered?

Many thanks.

Most of it is up to you. YOU have to get the boat surveyed and get the surveyor to mail in his report. If you crack the whip, < 1 week. YOU have to supply title docs, which you can do right now if you have them. With all that, if you don't pay the express fee, 2-4 weeks to get your acceptence. Then YOU have to carve and mark the boat and file the declaration (or have a surveyor sign it if it's a commercial boat), and THEN you get the part 1 certif

If you're in a hurry they will issue a temporary part 1 registration valid for a month, by email as a pdf, same day. Before doing all their checks and before carving and marking. The temporary certif looks different from the real McCoy; it's clearly marked temporary or provisional or something

If it's not a new boat, it could take for ever - you have to prove ownership thro each owner & have bills of sale for each transfer. That alone means locating all previous owners for whom there isn't a bill of sale.
