The other day I was watching the Sunseeker program and to be honest feeling a little envious. Not for the boat but for the lifestyle, the way they treated their customers, like family just the glamour of it all. The next morning, lo and behold, an invite arrived for the 'brunch Swift Trawler'. We immediately booked our flights and hotel for the Paris Boat Show. Its all about feeling wanted.

With Sunseeker and their ilk, if you've got several tens of millions to spend, and you might spend it with them, you are friend and family - if you haven't, you mean nothing. Not a world I want to be part of.

Well I see your point but when I spend large sums of money I appreciate it when they show the love.

It's not love.
Its part of the "Button Up" To keep you happy with the deal you got. So you spread love.
And.
To lock you in as a customer(sucker) who will come back and spend large sums of cash again.
Enjoy . A free brunch is a better than a poke in the eye.

You part with the dosh and you not only get the love you also get a lovely shiny large lump of glass reinforced plastic. Everyone walks away a winner.:encouragement:
Anyone else going to Paris?

Saturday night and here I am, Paris!
Just spent a week in London, boy that town is growing, building everywhere a lot of people are betting a lot of money that London will boom after Brexit. Overlooked Chelsea harbour, nice little marina all the boats snugly fitting, there was a lock and a lifting bridge leading to the tidal Thames. The sad part was that despite a week of lovely winter weather I don't think a single boat moved. But in Paris we are staying at the airport because we are on a mission and the boat show is that mission. I will not be able to describe the sights of Paris to our British Columbian friend because tomorrow morning we are going from airport to exhibition hall, no stopping. My wife is very tolerant of me when I get boat showy (that's the apparent state I get into before a, any, boat show). This time last year I bought a new boat so I'm particularly fond of the Paris show. On a more philosophical note, has anybody noticed that the electric hand driers in toilets now only blow cold air?

Well, 8 hours at a boat show! A long long day but not nearly long enough to see everything. Loved it! Paris is a great boat show, my full report will hopefully include photos but I'll wait till I'm home rather than trust hotel wifi.
But because I'm English I'll start with a couple of gripes, last year after the tragic events in Paris there was security, bags were checked and metal detectors used. One year later? No security! Its the French attitude, before the even, what could possibly happen, after, who could have known.
The second is the pretty attack dogs boat sellers use to keep you from buying a boat. This subject has been raised before but why dont boat sellers read forums of boat buyers? If you want pretty girls at the event fine great. If they know anything about boats even better, talk to me about boats show me boats. Otherwise put them on the sun loungers or on the master cabin beds, I'm sure they will sell more boats. But when you refuse me entry then I resent them and the boat brand. The Benneteau girl stopped me after all that expense and time it took me to get to that braided rope. The red mist descended and my French failed me so I just walk right past her. The worst? Well I just got through explaining to my wife about how Galeon had gone from cheap and cheerful to industry innovators when we stopped and rudely refused entry. So for everyone on this forum I refuse to let you buy a Galeon.

Let's start at the Benneteau stand

Nice boat, not that popular on this parish so I won't dwell on it, but it does illustrate a bugbear with me, and that's head room. Note to boat manufacturers; the quickest way to fall out of love with your boat is to keep smashing your head on it. No more headbangers!

If these come out sideways I don't know I'll do
Again another GT this one slightly bigger, Nice boat good interior nice fly again lack of head room in the main cabin
The pop up sun loungers on the fore deck seem to be all the rage this year

Don't worry. I just turned my computer sideways, your one up on me, you can post pictures:)
I tried rotating the photo the photo first but it still came out sideways. I also joined photobucket but its just too complicated for me

Not just Sunseeker - Boeing like to sweeten their customers too.
I took delivery of a B777 for work in 2000. Remember that I was a lowly engineer, and had no influence in the airlines buying choices, but boy did they roll out the barrel for us!
A week in Seattle pre-handover, dinner every night, prominent test pilots and industry 'celebs' to talk and entertain us every night, serious hotels and restaurants, invitations onto test flights, VIP factory tours, more free merchandise than we could possibly ever want etc etc...

And a very interesting transaction to actually buy the thing - leave Boeing field and turn left towards the west (in a Boeing owned machine) - bum around a bit in international airspace whilst various international banks did their thing, then receive the official handover in the air over the ocean. Once the aircraft was ours, we then turned back east, back over Seattle, and on to the uk. Actually purchasing the aircraft in international airspace does something to the tax, but I didn't really understand it!
