Paris by sea

Thanks. Know we can get to Rouen but cant seem to find the air draft on bridges beyond that! Looking like a couple of days transit each way beyond Rouen so not sure there is a great training value here to make the run ashore worth while!

The top section of the mast is removable but when it goes back up there may be issues recalibrating gear to MOD standards too!

peter, I just found a piccie showing a raggie stick in the marina Paris Arsenal - not sure if it can be done.

Post this in the Liveaboard forum, and Grehan will answer within the day.

Neville Featherstone's book 'North France and Belgium Cruising companion' deals with the trip. He did it in a Westerly Fulmar, I think. You take your mast down at Rouen.

I've been up to Paris a couple of times but as a Moboer I can only state that Paris Arsenal has 5.2m airdraft. There are some bridges in Paris leading up to the marina where we had to lower out VHF aerials so I very much doubt you are going to get to Paris without lowering your mast. From memorty I seem to recal the airdraft requirements to get to paris excluding the marina being something like 6.5m, but don't take my work for that.
