After several years of trying I have finally arranged to be working in Paris during the period of the boat show in December. Is there anyone on the forum who has been to the show and can offer some tips to make the most of it?

We went to the Paris Boat Show three years ago with the intention of buying our boat!
We specifically chose a late opening day as we knew we had lots to do.
It was very busy all day - queues to get in (at the opening time) even for ticket holders. It is in several separate halls so it's worth working out exactly where you want to do the most.
That's about it - it's just like London, but with oysters and champagne.

Hi, We have been a number of times and have found it to be a great show, MUCH better than London, yes there are Oysters, Champagne and edible ham baguettes. We have generally gone on the opening/preview day and on the first Saturday.

Although we haven't been for a couple of years I would imagine that t hasn't changed too much. The general layout was that te first hall was FULL of sailing boats, charter companies and tourist offices, then another ground floor hall which was devoted to Motor boats - give it a miss if not interested, then up the escalators and along a long corridor to books/magazines/insurance companies etc etc. From there there is a set of steps/escalator to another ground floor which houses, chandlery, electronics, sailmakers, spars etc etc.

Well worth a day out I'm envious enjoy...

Mike:)
