Sorry to ask, but is this forum for all classic boats, or just the rag and stick variety? I certainly regard my Bruce Campbell Christina as a classic, but I haven't noticed any postings from other classic motor boat enthusiasts.

Welcome, I had one of those in the 70's.it was called little audry, the cabin was taller then standed, it had a 5ltr crysla v8 did 30knots. ps i am in "J****Y"

rich :-))
Edited by rich on 15/02/2003 20:18 (server time).

Mine originally, and up until she sank just before Christmas, had a Detroit series 53 130hp. Now I'm restoring her to her former glory, I'm going to fit a rebuilt Sabre 180 in her. That should give me about 24kts or so. I believe you are from Jersey? Where else with a name like Rich:-)). I saw one advertised for sale by South Pier Shipyard called Boops. She had twin BMC's I think, and what I can only describe as a shed for a wheelhouse instead of her original curved screen.

HIYA, don't know your name as your profile isn't filled in.

in answer to you question there are a few of us that have older motor cruises, and do frequent this board. alas, most of our time is taken on the MOBO Chat forum, talking crap about "money" boats!

i looked at a christina, with a bmw, and 28o O/D but i'm not ready for another project just yet. where do you hail from? most of the gang who converse on the mobo chat forum are somewhere on the south coast uk. and we arrange meetings where we drink... get drunk... fall over! seems to be a recipie that works!

please feel free to join in, the next "do" is in yarmouth, there is a separate section regarding the IOW revival. or log in to the boats on the thames chat room, it gets a bit lively, but is great fun with plenty of banter.

anyway, that's about it, best wishes, steve.

(doh, just read your profile again, see you "abroad!")

I wouldn't call Alderney "abroad", but it does rule out meeting for a booze-up in Yarmouth, I'm afraid. Must remember to fill out my profile.

I have to agree about Mo Bo Chat, there's not much on there for the classic enthusiast. Some good general postings though. Long threads about S........s being better than F......s or vice versa dont do a thing for me.

nah, wood is good, slow is nicer.... wood and slow..... now that's classic boating!

regards, steve.
