paravane for mackeral trolling

can any paravane user reccomend any particular make----i have used them before -- i don t need instruction----prefer a 5lb lead weight but cannot find one so its got to be a paravane-----regards lentenrose

I use the 40g Delta Paravane. Bought a job lot a few years back. Caught mackerel and pollack again today with one. Prefer it to the Fladen which didn't work for me at higher trolling speeds. I use a sand-eel behind 4-6 mackerel feathers and the fladen couldn't handle this at 4-5 knots.

I've caught mackerel with swimming lures, they have a plate on the chin. Mackerel will come to the surface if they see a fish there, I've never used a paravane.

When you see the oil on the surface, get your feathers out and gig them all about.

Works on Northumbrian mackeral! Greedy little buggers

I tried one on AngusMcDoon's trimaran, I didn't catch any fish and it was lost when we hit 20 knots.
