Papers needed for Turkey

My brother and his wife are going to leave their boat in Turkey this year and have asked if I want to use it while they are not. What a great opportunity!

However, the Heikel Turkey crusing guide (2001) says that the registered owner of the boat needs to be onboard, and it cannot be 'loaned' to me. Is this the case, or is there some other form of paperwork that will keep the authorities happy?

Any other advice also gratefully received.

There is some useful information here or here which may help. Your brother may have to draw up a document to make you a part owner of the boat /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif. Alternatively, your brother could authorise you to deliver the boat to his next port - not sure how many stops you could make along the way though /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif.
