Does someone have experience Good or Bad, about how Pantaenius insurance is handling claims?
I had acident 4 mounts ago, and I just now have feeling that they are playing with Us. They are asking already
same papers and statements 3 Th time. And they trying to but the responsibility for the ship yard.
Please let me know If some one has something to tell over Pantaenius.

I have been insured by them for 10 years or so. I like their policy wording, but I've never made a big claim

About 5 years ago my neighbour crashed into my boat in France causing £6k of damage. We were both insured with P. I filed a claim against his Pantaenius office that even included my airfares in travelling UK-France to organise my boat repair, and they paid immediately.

But I have heard (once, in a pub conversation) that they can be awkward in paying big claims. Though, so can lots of insurers. So I'd be interested in your story and research

Interesting, they're big in Germany, selling their slightly higher premiums with their "we always pay up" reputation.. I'd just threaten to make it public if they get too annoying

Interesting, becuase in the case i mentioned, my at-fault neighbour was insured by P in Germany and it was P's German office that paid me quickly and no-quibble-ly. I'm insured through Pantaenius in UK. Tis a German company by origin, i think. Mr Baum the owner is German I think.

They paid up but then cancelled my insurance and returned the amount kept for the remaining period of cover, never again.....

I'm also with P and never had nor heard of any issue at all.

I've had two bangs like jfm when bloke next door hit me and one where a visitor took off his stbd side with my anchor / bow roller. In both cases P had a man on the spot almost immediatly and took over the claim completely. No loss to me and no hassle - if memory serves P paid Princess directly on the anchor claim (boat was two weeks old ffs)

Very popular insurance company in the Dragon fleet with a goode reputation for fair and straight dealing. Also better than any other company I have dealt with on paying back the unused portion of the annual premium if the policy is cancelled.

I have a sailing boat which has been insured through Pantaenius UK since I bought her back in 92.

On my travels in '93 I was damaged at anchor by a German Boat who dragged down on me in a storm.

He had 3rd party via Pantaenius Germany. In the anchorage there was a retired Norwegian Marine Surveyor. We faxed a copy of his CV to Pants Germany & they accepted his repair estimate (just under 2k as I recall) & paid out within 3 weeks.

In 2004 I had a claim on my own Pantaenius UK insurance (again not my fault). This claim amounted to £25k+. Pantaenius were excellent in all ways. However it took them quite some time (nearly 2 years) to recover my out-of-pocket expenses from the guilty 3rd party insurers who wriggled & obstructed at every opportunity.

So, on two occasions Pantaenius came up trumps.

Das some one have any comments?

Thank You and Regards

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

Please note that according to the policies clauses you have to follow the insurers advices. Therefore please take care that the seller of the boat Olysse Alexandra in Finland and the building shipyard in Italy get a registered letter holding them liable for the loss of the boat insured with a sum EURO 4.000.000,--. Due to the relationship between Auto-Haus, Star Yachting and Harry van Woerden this letter should be in the name and on behalf of Auto-Haus and Star Yachting and Harry van Woerden.

Please note that, if you do not follow the insurers advises and keep on hiding the insurers will not deal with this matter and could reject a settlerment

They do a very good bottle of rum called 'Rum Skagen' which they give to all of the commercial vessels they insure. I got mine because one of their directors broke down in his sailboat while on holiday in Norway and he kindly gave me a flask for getting him going again and told me to ring him direct if I wanted a good quote to insure my boat.

There have been a number of posts smearing Pantaenius down the years.

They always seem to come from disaffected new members based in mainland europe.

This looks like a Troll to me.

my only experience with pantanious was a bad one. a catemaran insured by them dragged anchor and caused 4,000 euros of damage to my boat. My own insurance company GJW were on the ball but pantaenius (germany) proved very difficult to deal with and dragged it out for nearly two years even though I supplied a written statement from the cat skipper, completely acknowledging responsibilty for the accident.

Dear all,

I lost my mast in Port Elizabeth, 4 years ago. Pantaenius insurance works very well and professional. Two weeks after Pantaenius send 60% off the money for repair. All the handling wars very relaxt nd fast. I have nothing to complain. Pantaenius is the 1. choice for me.
