Nice pictures. The last one shows the Alpaca farm. Sadly mooring is no longer allowed there which is a shame because it was always a nice quiet alternative to Pangbourne Meadow and a relatively short and pleasant walk into Whitchurch. A couple of years ago there were a number of permanently moored boats there, I assume with the permission of the landowner, which restricted the casual mooring spots to one or two spaces. Anybody know the history to this?
According to one of the Pangbourne river wardens I spoke too last season the farm owners were always (still are) very pro leisure boaters. However too many of the 'river pikeys'(my words) took hold and left behind all sorts of muck which made them pull up the drawbridge. I totally understand how they felt.
