Boat's been out all last week for antifouling, cleaning, anodes and servicing of the engines.

I thought she looked good before but I must admit I'm pretty impressed. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Shiny props... Well, they were yesterday. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

And what a shine? (Thanks to AdrianB) /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Col & Vicky spent the whole of Saturday on the engines too. New oil, filters, engine anodes (Yep ALL of them) adjusted the tappets and checked her right through.

And found the reason why I had a seap from the starboard impeller housing...

The so called main Volvo agent who replaced them last year did 2 out of 6 screws up tight and left the more difficult 4 finger tight! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

How do they keep their accreditation? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Thanks Col! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Looking forward to next week now when that next high comes in. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Well spotted, they craned her up and over the wall and she'll go straight back over on Monday or Tuesday. She's 2 ft away from the harbour office.

I think it was due to the gale while craning last Tuesday when she came out.

Hi Roger

Looks good - is that a stern thruster on the back? I don't have one of those, but could def do with one sometimes. I took mine out for the first time last weekend, and managed 30.5 SOG knots, best ever. I also had new cutlass bearings and generally the engine felt really good and a little quiter than before. Be interesting to see how you get on in the water.

PS I edited this as it did say Bow Thruster - and you are a unforgiving lot /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Answer: "CLOS"

"Complete Lack of Skill!" /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Generally, you don't need them and for the last three months over the winter neither of them worked anyway. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Still, they're nice to play with and good fun flaunting by tucking a 40' boat into a 42' foot hole! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

However, last bank holiday Monday, we came back from Yarmouth in a 6-7, the ride was great! The western solent was flattish and all spray was being blown flat, we surfed round West Pole on the approach to Chi in 2 metre waves at 25 knots, fantastic.

Then arriving at Sparkes, different story, bloody lucky to get in really. Really blowing and the only stable angle was stern to the wind. I couldn't believe the windage on a flybridge boat - 5-6 knots sideways!

Thrusters... forget it NO way José! as 'dv' said that's probably the only excuse! + /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Well I have a good excuse - I was being craned out the next day and was asked to leave it on the wall. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Just as well cos I wouldn't have got her through the chicane and into in her berth anyway. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
