Assiduous readers of this magnificent organ will recall that the "Scuttling off to Cherbourg" trip raised money for Macmillan Cancer Relief. Shortly after the trip £575 was sent to the charity. Subsequent donations have added very generously to that total, and today I'm sending off a further £640, making a grand total of £1215.

Well done to all who helped. From my p-o-v the appeal is now closed, but if anybody did miss the boat and wants to contribute, cheques made payable to Macmillan Cancer Relief can be sent directly to:
