PAN Navigator....anyone heard of this?

Has anyone heard of the PAN Navigator 8640N chart plotter?
I did a search but drew a blank. If the company still exists I could contact them for a manual etc.

If you knock the N off the 8640 and try googling it again there are a number of hits. This thread is number 2 on the list of 62,000 or so.

I have now with your help made some sense of all this. Many thanks. I have emailed Lorenz and sent photos of the unit. I want to know if its possible to add a DSC VHF and AIS on an NMEA network, or if the unit is just too old for that? All the paperwork is in Italian which is not very helpful. Clearly it might be best to say adios to this unit and replace with a modern GPS, but before starting surgery on the nav station I wanted to cover my bases.
