Thanks, great pictures, that Superhawk sure is something else.
Went on board the coffee coloured one at Southampton, couldn't believe where all the 43ft went!

Nope, masaccio was too busy hogging it for himself /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Saw her doing runs out in Palma Bay. Well, you couldn't miss that giant rooster tail /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Later on - the next day in fact, we could see her again from the restaurant on the top floor of El Corte Ingles /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Where were the Guardia, that's what I want to know /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thnx for the pix, Son Vida. Love the electric blue hull colours of the AZ and the Baia. Is that Tresco just for posing coz I'd like to know just how much water floods the cockpit when it comes off the plane
Any Ferrettis there?

I see the new owners were on board, hope you didn't mention Nautical did the sea trials /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Actually, at just over 40 knts she is the fastest 56 so far, no idea why maybe it was a slightly cooler day or less humidity but she flew! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hi Mike,

I didn't look at any Ferrettis - buggered off when the rains came.

The new 510 (soon to be launched) looks good don't you think?

Rain? It does'nt rain in Majorca. At least thats what the tourist office says
Yup, the new Ferretti 510 does indeed look good and, for once, the price is not too far off it's rivals but actually I don't particularly like the way the new interiors are going. Like some other manufacturers, they're going for more minimalist type styling with light coloured timbers and sharp edges and, on the 510, they've ditched the separate dinette which IMHO is a shame. Still, the engineering will be top notch

What i pers like about the Ferretti range is their windscreen is in 1 piece on most of the models something you dont see often from the UK manu, it is realy a great view inside out with that, but their design is not exactly right + finishing touch is missing left and right, but isnt that typical Italian...

i have sold a few Ferrettis and dont see much flawless finish here and there same goes for most of the famous italian builders, tough I admit Azimut have better delivery inspections then Ferretti especially since they opened the Savona delivery centre
sometimes it is also how much attention is going from the dealer or seller of the boats more then the manufecterer itself
I also think giving a stamp to Italian builder is a bit wrong as best level for production builders is reached by Cranchi and not only in Europe

I would like to see this one, i tought they would have followed the road of the 550 with light colored oak which IMO is amazing, pity for the dinette forward in the saloon that classic theme of all medium sized Feretti was something I liked and a bit of a trademark on them...

Ferretti

How is the design not right? As far as finishing touches go, I would say Ferretti is about the best you can get as far as mainstream builders are concerned! We are just starting our 3rd season with our Ferretti and I'm still finding little things that please me and show the attention to detail that they put in to building a boat. Just by way of example, the last time I was on my boat I discovered a little electric pump in the bilges next to the fuel tank which is specifically designed with a special filter to pump out drained off diesel fuel from the tank. Never seen this on any other boat and there are loads of little touches like this which I won't bother listing. To be fair, you don't see this kind of thing when you look at a Ferretti at a boat show and you really only discover them after owning one for a season or two
