Palm Beach Cruisers- just fallen in love

Lovely looking boats with unusual drive layout. Engines located in position where they would normally be for shaftdrive but driving IPS drives through long jackshafts. Best of both worlds? Weight distribution of a shaftdrive boat for solid seakeeping with efficiency of IPS drive? Only downside is that it wastes a lot of space

I see one or two every day, it seems like just another fabulous product with appalling international marketing - which must ring bells?

I currently prefer sails, but as I mature the appeal become increasingly apparent.

It's nice to know that some of you guys share my guilty secret. All the criticisms are right but when you look at something truly beautiful do worry about what's underneath? It's the first boat that's ever blown my socks off. Any body want a used Bertram?

Imho, the saloon side windows look disproportionally large on some of them. Also the recessed foredeck seating can't be very practical. Must collect dirt/leaves/salt/etc.

I wouldn't mind one all the same :)

very nice boat indeed,

another lightweight example like Delta's
and interestingly low consumption figures,
is this the beginning of a new era ?

engineroom pics of the PB65 show a MAN engine, despite the announcement of Volvo IPS in the specs,
I wonder if that was a one off, and what pod drive was coupled to the MAN, if somebody on here knows more ?

design lacks a bit of volume / space compared to the familiar FB models from princ/suns/fairl/ferr ....
but its a lot more beautifull to look at, (imho)

I'll be waiting for a PB85, :)

Interesting machines. I know boats are all compromises but this one makes you choose between some beautiful features and some awful ones.

On the plus side with the 65, you have the beautiful looks and details, and what seems like lightweight/efficient construction. And nice playtime features like the opacmare Transformer. Then on the downside you have to live with a tender launch system that moves basically all the external deck and the lunch table, so all your guests have to go indoors or to the foredeck while you do the tender. Jeeze. And my name isn't Lars but heck I'd be worried about catching a wave over the stern while the garage is open. Plus there s strangely rubbish deck gear (mickey mouse cleats), straight planks of teak not curved which is a cost cutting too far on this kind of machine surely, and so on.

Tricky one, but while the thing looks lovely on a lake, the tender launch is surely a deal breaker for use on the sea.

From what I've seen of these glamours, they appear to be more ornaments for the harbour-side homes private pontoons or a quiet little putter around to watch the fireworks once a year.
