There is a scam email going around which is the most convincing I've seen so far.

It appears to come from Pay Pal telling you that there is some irregularity with your account and inviting you to click on a link that again seems realistic to access the "Pal Pal" login screen. However what you get is this:-

but notice the actual address!

When you log in you can use any password you like (I used the vernacular for testicles) ti brings you this:-

Which you will notice would give full access to your credit card account - look at the assuring "Bank verification" next to the PIN number box Ho Ho.

TAKE CARE!!!!!!

Now just to keep this nautical,

Where is this:-

With emails from Pay Pal and Ebay, they will always address you by your name/log in name. If they address you as (e.g.) Paypal Member/ Dear Member, then it's always fraudulent. Easy rule to remember.

Any unsolicited phone call or email from a financial organization which asks for your password, pin, mother's maiden name etc. is ALWAYS a scam.

Steve, I think if you mouse-hover over the offered link, the status bar at the bottom of the explorer window will show the url it will actually use, and that will NOT be paypal.

Time and time again, the advice is never to click on links in e mails - don't do it! If you look in the Address bar you will see even though it includes the word Paypal, it is not a legitimate Paypal web address. Anyone who is uncertain on how to avoid these scams should use a browser or toolbar with anti phishing built in.
