Im going to repaint a GRP hull with 2 pack so I have to remove the existing paint which I think is single pack. Ive been using a DA sander today which is slow. Is the stripper for antifoul any good?

Id think Dilunet or wallpaper paste and caustic soda would do the business.

just dont use anything containing methylene chloride (dichloromethane)

I fyou use Dilunett, wait for the weather to warm up a bit... It's good stuff but works MUCH better when it's above 10C, and also the caustic soda precipitates out of solution below (IIRC) 6C

I have the same job up and coming. Useful tip when using paintstripper is to cover the applied stripper with 'cling film'. This stops the stripper drying out to fast.

I have tried this on varnish on wood and it worked very well.

Regards Nick

My local supplier had stripper made by Reactive Resins of Cornwall. It worked great on antifoul but didnt touch the single pack topsides paint .It just dried out too quick I think, and in the morning it was crystalised over surface. I wish I new about the cling film yesterday
