I have just Taken my boat out of the water here in France, after getting rid of the mussels the boat yard owner han a good look at it and said it was okay to pressure wash, i did this and all seems good,Now i am about to start the antifouling what should i do to prepare it,? How many coats of paint etc.
at places the old antifouling has come off down to the wood,

As for the upper hull i think it has an epoxy coating and his at some places needs preparing as it looks like there are chips and cracks what paint can i use how many coats here also, and will it all be expensive?

You could do a lot worse than have a look at a few paint (or "marine coatings" as they call the stuff nowadays) websites.
This one, International is quite good. Mind you, I just use Dulux Weathershield above the waterline and the cheapest soft cruising anti-foul below.

On the subject of epoxy coating. You don't say whether your boat is old or new, or whether caulked, splined or even ply. Advice there is dependent on the method and materials of construction. As a general rule I would not use any two-part coatings on a wooden yacht as a) the wood needs to breath, and b) two-part coatings are too hard and will crack when the wood swells.

I go along with you should use the correct primer for under the water line and Dulux Weathershield above.

But hey you could always spend lots of your hard earned money and use on of the "marine coating" products for the hull. Seriously this has been discussed many times on here and many of the members with wood boats use Dulux.
