Painting Stainless Steel

Just had one of our 316 SS water tanks repaired. Gusset over one joint and welding of other seams. The tanks was originally painted on the outside with a non epoxy paint. Should I paint the tank again or leave it in its natural state. All parts of the tank, including the repair, are non magnetic.

I would leave it as it is, then you will be able to see and treat any corrosion on the welds.

 

[Pasarell]

I would leave it uncoated. Perfectly possible to paint stainless if necessary but you can actually induce corrosion by coating too.
