Well the interior rebuild progresses.... the last of the evo stick has been removed, all the more healthy for the mask. However the hideous woodstain is more problematic. Any bits I can remove have come home and been stripped with no problems, but the bottom of the bunks are really hideous and fixed in good and proper so I decided to paint these. After a couple of coats of primer, in some areas a brown stain is starting to show through. Is there any kind of special primer that will defeat Sandolin or will the top coat of gloss solve this in itself?

I am thinking that evostick and woodstain should both be banned from boat interiors!!!!

I agree with the above. Other option would be a knotting solution. More expensive but probably more reliable as well

Should've stuck to Sadolin. You'd have the same problems with Deks or any other stain.

Anyone contemplating using Sadolin (I do and I think it's fine) is best advised to use one with a light colour (white Oak) or indeed none at all for interior wood (it brings out the natural colour).
