I'm thinking of giving the auld Bruce a liberal coat of Dayglo Orange as I think this will add a scientific dimension to the whole process of anchoring in that we will be able to see it.
Is this an appropriate colour?

splendid idea .. why stop at day-glo? add some fluorescent stuff and you'll be able to find the boat at night as well ... which you'll be thankful of rather than Dear Heart having to lead you by the paw to where you left it ...

no no no - a Bruce is completely the wrong anchor for painting..........

all the main surfaces will be subjected to scouring and any paint visible on setting will come off in no time at all leaving the sides of the stock, which won't be visible.

what you need is a ...................

Actually if it's mounted on the bow roller (the anchor that is) then one side should be painted dayglo green and the other dayglo red. Just to prevent confusion.
