OK, Chaps! I'm going to give Englander a brush up this year!! I intend to use two pack white again, but would like any newish input into which brushing two pack to use, it was seven years ago I painted her and just want to use one coat of undercoat, with some body and covering power in it and one top (gloss) coat, also with some body in it. I used a dutch product last time, for trade use, but can't remember the name of it. So advice sought. Please. I have heard so much good about these mohair pad thingies, are they as good as a good quality brush in trained hands?

Just to be totally boring and predictable ...

... the best I've tried is International. That's out of three makes I've used in recent years. On the other hand, professionals seem to turn up their noses at it. International aims fairly firmly at the DIY market, and perhaps for this reason its two-pack polyurethane seems a little thicker, more suitable for brushing. I wouldn't necessarily endorse other International paints though.

I thought I might end up in the international camp, what's the number of the stuff, perfection 709? Thanks for your input. I looked at awlgrip, too thin, great for a job in a shed, sprayed etc, but outside with a brush? I think not.

It's now just called 'Perfection'. Incidentally, from your reference to Awlgrip, you are not in the US are you? International sell a different two-pack product there called something like 'Interthane'. My one experience of that a number of years ago was not satisfactory, though of course it may have changed since.
