Hi
We have been busy painting our hull for a wee while now, and following my last posting have decided to go down the Seajet route. We started with their epoxy primer (117) which so far looks good. However we've now started with the Glosskeep topcoat (as the advice on the website is confusing whether an undercoat is required), but as we went for dark blue, looks like it will need many more coats than planned because of the colour. We could get undercoat from Seajet, but they don't do a dark undercoat, defeating the purpose.

The question therefore is: Can we put another brand's (e.g.Blake's or International) undercoat between a Seajet epoxy primer and topcoat?

Any help/advice would be appreciated

Should'nt be a problem at all, as long as you put the undercoat on the epoxy primer within the stipulated overcoating time, so that the undercoat bonds to the epoxy coating, think when l did mine it had to be done within 10 hours at xxx degree's temp. Mine came out fine even if l do say so myself

Hi
Thanks for your reply. We've decided to go for it and have bought Blake's Undercoat, which we managed to put on this afternoon.
