I am looking for some off white paint to do my cockpit and some small deck areas. Looking for an eggshell/satin finish. I was wondering if anyone has used a matting agent and could tell me what it was like or could recommend a suitable single pack paint which is not brilliant white.

Hmmm. I use it on the house and wouldn't use anything else but a bit reluctant to use it on the boat. Might try a test patch. It's a pity that the satin version is water based. Maybe the solution would be to use the gloss then dull it down with some rubbing compound.

I didn't actually find the gloss....that glossy and may suit your needs.I know many use it, as this site is where it was suggested to me by quite a few people, that's why I used it.

Saw the other posts so I'll give it a try. Anyone got any tips on toning it down a bit to get away from the pure white. Is there a suitable colour number.
