Hallo gents !

I Just realized my paguro 4000 ( starts and runs very fine , no issues) puts out 258 volts no load . Shore power is 235-240.

Can i adjust this somewhere ? A bit nervous to plug in sensitive stuff on this .

Thank you much for hints !

I have the slightly larger 5.5 on my boat and the manual suggests the following:

I'm not actually on the boat at the moment so I can't physically check where the adjustment is and the manual doesn't tell you. The engine speed is shown on the LCD display on the remote.
I assume when they talk about capacitor they mean the field capacitor on the alternator as I don't think little generators like this have AVRs

I think i have the older style remote with diodes indication for load and oil press / overtemp shutdown , no rpm indication so i have to figure out how to check .

is the field capacitor connected to the starter battery ? The manual / wiring seems to indicate this .

Thanks so far !

Oh, sorry, I read 4000 and assumed 4 SY, mine is 5.5 SY. In my manual it shows it connected to the alternator by two green wires.

This post has a bunch of other manuals which the poster says are generic ones for similar generators: Paguro 4000 generator won't start

I would switch on a non sensitive heavier load first such as a heater or kettle. That will soon get the voltage down to a more sensible level. Then once stable let the electronics turn on such as the battery charger or TV.
