I've got a mooring next year through the RSA on the Roach off Paglesham. Anybody else on the forum based there?

If and it's a big if ,I actually get around to launching my boat then Theres a good chance I'll be looking for a Maureen there , none of this "we'll just stay in the marina " milarky ............ For us just get on / cast off and head for nearest (wait for it) marina ha ha

Speak to Nigel B with the Colvic ref moorings although John L just got back to me as he now has a spare going. I had already agreed to to one of Nigels though.
Not much in it except John's are down river and Nigel's are up.

May I ask where the RSA moorings are located and how these can be identified compared with the boat yard's moorings?
The last edition of East Coast Rivers warned against the boat yard moorings but I couldn't match the description of the RSA ones with my observations when I passed by this August.

Sort of... Rochford side of jetty are boatyard. Thgey were improved this last year by the previous manager Steve, but he couldn't make it pay, so had to give up.

Nigel's moorings are much nicer and quieter, and easier to get to around springs when you are going out in the morning and coming back in the evening.
I used to be opposite the Varlet [or Violet as it is now] and it was just so peaceful there. Occasionally you will get a motor boat go past on its way to Rochford.
The other end you get the constant wash of boats going past and the wind seems to bring a lot more noise from generators from the liveaboards.
But against that with boat yard fees as well as mooring fees with Nigel's moorings they worked out dearer than the RSA moorings which include the boat yard fees.
