Arrived in the Bristol Channel in the early hours of the morning. She will be here for 3 weeks and sailing information can be found here - http://www.waverleyexcursions.co.uk/bchannelwaverley.pdf

Fleetmate Balmoral will remain in Bristol for 2013 due to the economic climate making trading difficult for her. It is hoped, subject to a successful, appeal she will return to service in 2014 and once again become a regular sight in the Bristol Channel.

Departing Penarth for Clevedon this evening.

P&A Campbells fleet of paddle steamers, laterly motor ships operated from Cardiff Pier Head. In the early 90's Balmoral undertook a number cruises from Cardiff Bay but now, sadly, the barrage prevents the ships getting to that area. Very occasional trips have been offered from Cardiff's Roath Basin in recent years.

We had a gorgeous sail on the Waverley yesterday but the crew told us that where previously they had done the Bristol Channel sail 3 times a week on the Waverley or Balmoral, now they are doing it only twice this summer! Such a shame. Support these!

The Waverley has quite an extensive programme over the next few weeks, but anchored off Cardiff today due to the weather I guess (was due to go to Ilfracombe).

She offered a short upper Bristol Channel Cruise due to the weather.

Today she did Ilfracombe and tomorrow off to Minehead. Off Service Thursday then a Clevedon, Penarth and Holm Islands Cruise Friday. Final sailings this season on the Bristol Channel are Saturday and Sunday.
