P.B.O Sharp practice

I filled in the coupon in the Oct issue of P.B.O to sell my boat. It was submited at approx end sept ie before the next edition on the news stands. There is a space for every word and the price clearly mentioned. My remitance was as stated on the form. Can someone tell me why I then get a call telling me the price has gone up 3%? When I complain the sales lady told me it was only a small sum!! She didnt understand it was the principle that annoyed me and of course the promised call from the advertising manager to discuss my concern has not happened
I suspect this is legal but is it ethical. Note P.B.O editorial staff - bet you wont publish this!!!!!

I bet they haven't even read it !
Good Luck !
Try your local Tradings Standards Office.
I find they are good at this sort of thing.

I phoned in with an advert and paid on a card but they said i had just missed this months deadline by 1 day but however if i had a boxed advert I could skip the deadline and go in this month issue, at X 3 the price. How cynical!

It will sit on the forum until someone in authority spots it, but I doubt very much that your comments would be put into print in the mag. After all, the publishers have got their reputation to think of!!

Try your local trading standards, they usually have a view on such matters!
