I am going to buy a PDA to run a number of things including nav software. The best value/spec I can find, at present, is the Mio P550. Does anyone have any experience of running OziExplorerCE on this model? Or, can anyone recommend a PDA/software combination?
I also want to run the same software on my laptop.

I ran a Maptech/ MDA II Phone combination with a bluetooth linked "puck type"GPS very successfully until recently when phone went swimming! (Still waiting for phone upgrade date before re-instating!). I think Maptech will work with most PDAs, certainly those with Windows Mobile like my PDA phone, as well as on the PC. However I think you do have to purchase a Marine Chart set (with basic Navigator chart plotter) as well as the Maptech mapping & PDA software, so total cost minimum likely to be £100+. I believe with OziExplorer it is probably cheaper & you can use scanned in charts & some think highly of the software- eg SBC , who may be along in a minute with his comments /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thought I'd add a PS- the only problem with the using the PDA set up for nav is screen size/definition, even close too. Mine was just about size of normal PDA screen, but not sunlight viewable- I would strongly recommend largest screen you can get & definitely sunlight viewable. hth
