I'm interested in an Oyster Heritage 37 but I've come across a few places that mention not to confuse the Oyster Heritage 37 with the Oyster 37. Are these indeed two separate yachts or have I just come across some misinformation?

Definitely two completely different boats. The Oyster Heritage is a well regarded cruising boat like this: http://www.yachtworld.co.uk/boats/1987/Oyster-Heritage-37-2528857/United-Kingdom The Oyster 37 is decidedly sportier see http://www.oysteryachts.com/brokerage/previous_models/37/default.aspx

There was a deck saloon version of the Heritage, but I think only two where built. One of which had been heavily modified with a retrousse stern and was for sale for ever as her German owner was asking an awful lot of money. Otherwise, there where 2 variations on the standard boat. The Mk I & Mk II. The difference being in the cockpit and quarter berth area.

As Sailorman says, I've done an Atlantic Circuit in mine and would be delighted to answer any questions about them.

There are two versions of the 37 One Ton as well. Those with bridge deck and aft cabin and those without.

Are you still looking for an Oyster Heritage? Might be able to point you to one in Suffolk.

Hi Michael. An old thread I know but wondering if you've any general advice on the Oyster Heritage 37? Any weak points, handling under engine, seaworthiness in big following seas. Have read great things about these boats and am considering one. Your name regularly pops up on any Heritage 37 thread :-) Many thanks

Noted. I've sent an email that hopefully went through. Many thanks

If you search on Youtube for Sailing Florence, you can find hours of them sailing quite comfortably around the world for the last 6 years. It's obviously a very conventional and reliable cruiser, especially when at sea.

They do however comment about it's shortcomings when at anchor (lack of room, ventilation, etc) and just as they've completed a loop around the world, they have found some structural issues around the bulkhead / hull tabbings at the foot of the mast. That's a very recent video so you don't have to watch all six years.

Has anyone traveled across the ocean with the Oyster 37 (ior model)? I would like to know from owners if it can make transatlantic trips with relative comfort.
