Oxford moorings

Hi guys,
. We're planning a trip up to Oxford over the week beginning 17th August and I wondered if there are any decent spots to moor that I may have missed before. We have stayed close to Folley Bridge but I'm told that there has been instances of less-than-orderly conduct from some of the local 'inhabitants'. Any suggestions please?

Drunks always a problem there, if you can get under Folly Bridge its quieter just below Osney. Not many options unfortunately.

If you can get under Osney I would
Head to the ruins above Kings lock, then taxi into Oxford.
The Trout over the bridge is great for an evening meal

Thanks guys, pretty much as I thought. Love the Trout! Sadly my boat won't get under the bridge, so it'll have to be a taxi TO the Trout!!

You could try calling Osney marina and see if they'll do you a visitor mooring

there's two, Osney Mill, and Osney marine

What's wrong with 'the street' as someone put it - just above Osney lock. First night free and only a fiver for the next

A better class of drunk though. Last time I was there a group of them were sitting on the towpath drinking cider and playing Scrabble.

Finding good quality drunks is so difficult these days. Honestly I met one recently who in a blind fold test couldnt tell a 7% dry cider from a very good vintage meths I had been keeping for the Tilley.
