This weekend saw the first turn out of the year for the Oxford Ditch who rallied to Ashmount House where they were regally entertained with excellent grub, bingo and some wonderful anecdotes of years gone by. The Raffle as per usual was particularly well endowed.
Of special mention was the Dessert dished up on Saturday Night. This was whipped cream with chunks of carrots and olives mixed in. At least that's what I thought it was but I'm told it was Strawberries and Blue Berries. Whatever it was it was great and many went back for a second bowlful.
If you boat above Henley but below say Osney you would enjoy being a member of the 'Ditch' contact me if you fancy joining.

First post on here, so Hello :) just got a little 16ft microplus slipped from Abingdon and sometimes Cholsey, tell me more of this "Ditch" Andy

Hi Andy,
Great to hear you are interested in the Oxford Ditch Cruising Club. I joined some time ago when I had a Microplus. We are a group of boaters who value our reputation as one of the friendliest clubs on the river. Our water-borne events include rallies and sociable activities held on the river bank. We don’t have a Club House; we do have a fully equipped marquee for socializing, cooking and eating. Other shore-based activities are arranged for the winter months. If you’re the sort that enjoys making friends and informal and relaxing get-togethers, why not come and join us. Individuals, couples, families (including well-behaved pets) are all welcome and enjoying the company of like-minded people is far more important than the size of your boat or the extent of your boating experience. Like to give it a try? Come to one of our events, with no obligation, and see what you think.

The list of ODCC events is on the Club's website at: www.oxfordditch.co.uk. Contact the Secretary on 01491 651553 for more details.
