Have painted decks - some steel some epoxy coated wood. They have non-slip additive. They need repainting. Do I just add more non-slip additive to new paint? Worried that i will begin to build up thicker and thicker layers.....

It wears away as you walk on it so provided you don't keep painting every year for the fun of it, no problems!

Remove any loose or flaking stuff, maybe paint the bare patches to even up the levels and go for it.

Many of use Sandtex Textured Masonry Paint. Much more durable, cheaper, and nicer to walk/sit on on those long hot days promised next summer, and every bit as non slip as the 'marine' type. Its also easier to apply and seems to adhere much better.

Its just much better all round than deck paint IMHO.

Hope this missal is not unwelcomed ... there is an alternative/- something else one might try as I have found all "non-slip" painted coverings are never ideal. After painting the area of the deck, liberally spread sugar on the top. When the paint is absolutely, dry wash it down with hot water. In the very beginning it is a little rough, but over a short time, any burrs are smoothed off and you have a deck surface with much more grip.
